The Smart System was developed out of a real life problem that triggered a real need for change in the retail and restaurants, especially Quick Service Restaurant & Fast Casual. The need for employee engagement, employees and employers who CARE.
Out of pure frustration for lack of engaged employees, the revolving door that in turn affected customer interaction and ultimately the bottom line, the Smart System was born.
The founder, Alan Daviduk’s experience, strength, and hope for change are what triggered a multi-year journey in developing S.M.A.R.T.
As the solutions entered testing the results were overwhelming. The early adopter test site results proved to Alan he could afford to recruit the best people to impact the growth of the company’s culture. Within a year, employee turnover decreased by 70%, 9 out of 10 applications were high performers, and sales increased by 30%!

1985
Cut from the soccer team, was too fat in JR High School, learned a huge lesson. “Don’t ever think you will automatically get something”, you need to earn it, and then keep doing the work to keep it.
1986
Lost 90lbs, walked into Brockton MA High School Freshman year, no one recognized me.
Joined Wrestling Team and Football Team
Worked for father at York’s Steakhouse, multiple locations.
Brockton MA, Dedham MA, Hanover MA and Methuen MA
1988
Parents Opened their first Dunkin Donuts (DD) location in Plaistow NH.
Began to learn the owner side of the business.

My employee problems at all our Dunkin Donut locations begin, stress was overwhelming
Turnover percentage topped at 280%, people did not want to work for me
Weight swelled to 415lbs, became very sick from Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and leg edema.
Finally came to the realization that I was the problem and “I” had to change.
Joined a Development Program for married Businessmen with children, called Wake-Up Warrior
Entered into the Warrior Week program to be “woken up”, began new journey on life and wake up I did.
The Journey begins.
2017
Began to put the Building Blocks together of my NEW People Strategy, began to test and refine every aspect of the way I operated to lead my teams and get results.
Half Baked Pizza signs agreement with Papa Gino’s Company to license its Supermarket Retail Pizza line.
2018
Lost 150lbs, and transformed all of me and began to repair the relationship with my wife and children.
Half Baked Pizza and Papa Gino’s Retail line break $8MM in sales.
Led my Team at Dunkin Donuts in 10 months to a complete end to end transformation internally. Developed the systems and processes that will become The SMART System foundation.
Witnessed people transformation after people transformation.
Developed layers of Training teams, hiring and onboarding systems.
Recorded system wide increases in sales, customer counts and guest satisfaction.
Dunkin Brands took notice, wanted to understand how I was achieving the success.
2019
Increased retention rates significantly, realized turnover percentage did come down from 280% to under 200%, but the target was incorrect. Eliminating the problematic candidates much faster was the actual key to success, in turn there had to be an attrition rate.
While walking on a 5 mile walk, felt massive pain. Had to undergo surgery to remove a bone infection from my previous unmanaged Diabetes.
Undergoing this treatment revealed damage to my Aortic heart valve, immediately underwent a Quadruple By-Pass and Aortic Valve Replacement.
Was able to heal myself in 12 weeks because of the physical transformation.
While undergoing treatment, Pizza Manufacturing partners, stole and pilfered the company funds stealing and mismanaging $1.5 MM from the company coffers and driving the company directly into an Iceberg.
The Pizza Legal War begins
2020
Faced with a long drawn out, very expensive legal battle. Decided to walk away and start over.
Made the decision to go all-in, use the core principles of my tested people strategy to help others and add value to their business and transform their teams.
Made the decision to leave the family business (Dunkin Donuts)
Terminated role and transitioned duties with the Donut Manufacturing Company.
Walked away completely.
My wife Karen was convinced I damaged my brain during the open-heart surgery 😊
Repackaged and branded to The SMART System.
Made the decision to build my own QSR and be my own case study.
Developer added to the Team to build automation and technology around the delivery and execution of the system.
2021
Opened my case study Restaurant in Derry NH.
The SMART System is the foundation of the entire business, core Culture & Environment driver, Complete recruitment to onboard system, Engagement and Retention System and process.
In the middle of the pandemic.
First 8 months broke $1MM in sales, which doubled projections.
Had less then a 30% turnover rate in those 8 months.
2022
Continuing the success in Derry NH.
Negotiating 2 more locations.
Kreativ Strategies added to the Team to bring The SMART System to transform Business owners people systems and help them to love their business again.
